ST. HENRY, DUKE, EMPEROR, FAITHFUL DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST.....AND WHAT HIS LIFE TEACHES THE CHURCH AND THE WORLD TODAY...........

As our complex and ever more complicated temporal world revolves around us, the Body of Christ, the Church founded by Jesus as His Community of Believers in the World, wisely and continuously teaches us the importance of being, "child-like".     We are open to understanding and appreciating, the primary relationships of life and love we are to share in living Faith, as Disciples of Jesus Christ, and Citizens of the World.  If all Catholic-Christians truly lived and put into practice this and the Gospel Values in which it grounded, the temporal world would be a more honest, honorable, and holistic, place.  The acts and responsibilities for oversight in our local, state, national, and international, communities will more effectively serve the common good of all citizens, and not just the personal agendas, and special interests, that too often being ordinately catered and caved into, by public representatives, who fail there obligation to put the best interests of ALL, ahead of the prerogatives or perks of the select few.  Yesterday's California State University Board of Trustees decisions yesterday in this regard, about which I blogged about last night, could have made a much better serving set of decisions, if only its membership had followed values that put the current realities confronting all Californians, especially our middle class familes; and not just an individual or less than innovative response to our current economic and budgetary crisis in the state university system, FIRST.....St. Henry, a tenth century Christian, whom the Liturgical Calendar commemorates today, set just such an example.  As Emperor he sponsored and promoted the development and sustenance, of ecclesial institutions, that served the common good.  May the common good of California, these United States of American, and the World and Universe, "in which we live, move and have, our being" be the first and foremost concern in our hearts and minds, so that our chief interest is not just ourselves, but the coomon good of the Society and the Creation in which we live...........Fr.  Troy
