ETERNAL REST AND PEACE GRANT TO JACK PENNINGTON SR., O LORD...........

Jack Pennington Sr., who with his wife and six children, has resided in Rio Linda, since the first year of OLOL's Parish existence, died peacefully on Tuesday evening, surrounded by the love of his family, after a year and a half's battle with cancer.  Since my pastorate of OLOL began last summer, the Pennington Family have been a very generous and participating presence in the livelihood and stewardship of our parish community.  Jack's daughter became our volunteer Parish Bookkeper last October.  His oldest son, Jack Jr. followed his sister into parish ministry and administrative assistance just weeks later volunteering to serve as our Parish Computer Technician.  Jack Jr.'s proficiency with computer and electronics technology, and Patty's three decades of exemplary work experience as an auditor/bookkeper, for the State of California, and the spirit of Catholic-Christian Stewardship, with which they are donating their time, talents, and treasure is impeccable and of great benefit to OLOL, with an ever scant parish budget and economic challenges.  And Mr. and Mrs. Pennington Sr., have also during the past year also generously assisted the parish, by their gift of a new parish officer laser jet printer.  This summer they are also sharing the bounty of their home garden, with the priests and sisters, very flavorfully, fresh, vegetables and fruits.  Our parish sympathies go out to his wife of 62 years, and their two sons, four daughters, and all the loved ones.  Funeral Arrangements for Mr. Pennington are pending.  But our prayers and Masses, for his eternal repose, have begun, as this morning's 8 a.m. Mass was already scheduled for Jack Sr.'s Intentions...........Eternal Rest Grant Unto His Holy Soul, o Lord, May He Rest In Peace.  Alleluia, Amen !!!!!!!!!!!   Fr.  Troy
