15th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME : WHAT SEED ARE YOU SOWING ON THE PATH OF LIFE AND FAITH ?????...........

On this 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time, as we stream ever more into July 2011, I awoke from my log-deep sleep of saix years, at 5:45 to the first of my morning prayers and thanksgiving.  NBC News'  Meet The Press followed at 6 a.m.,  then checking my blog, e-mails, and Facebook, at 7 a.m., washing up, shaving, and ablutions, at 7:30 a.m., and going over to the church to greet and update the Massgoers at 8:15 a.m., before Paul Friedrich connected me to my morning antiobiotic treatment at 8:45 a.m. .  After having breakfast during the antibiotic regimen, I went back over to the church and onto the altar sanctuary to celebrate the 10:30 a.m. Mass.  Foloowing the Mass three parishioners appreoached me and volunteered to help with antibiotic treatments, which Ray Rioehle will train them to do.  The Gospel Proclamation from Matthew today, is the Parable of the Sower of the Seed.  In this parable4 Jesus tells the example story of planting a seed and how the nurturing, cultivation, and fruitfulness, in the growth of that seed, derives from both the ground in which it is planted, and the caring response we make to bringing it to a plentiful harvest.  Are you living so that you are the good ground in which the seed of faith grows into a moral life ?  Or is your life not planted in solid soil, but on the rocky ground of selfishness ?  Even worse are the seeds that fall into the bad ground of sin, that instead of producing good fruits, leads to corruption.  Which soil are you planting your life in ???  If it is not the good soil, then how can any of us expect to reap the harvest of holiness that is the only way we will share in the goodness of God's Love ???????????...........Fr.  Troy
