THE JIG MAY FINALLY BE UP,FOR MEDIA MANIPULATOR AND MONOPOLIZER RUPERT MURDOCH...........

In the fifty three years the Ewing C. Kelly Family was in the business of broadcasting, with both radio and television stations in the Sacramento / Stockton media market, one of the greatest decisions they made amidst the continuous successes they achieved through six decades; was Jon Kelly's decision in 1998, not to sell his family's broadcast and entertainment company to intercontinental media mogul Rupert Murdoch.  Instead, he sold KCRA-TV, and the Kelly Broadcasting Company and Entertainment, to the Hearst-Argyle Company, for a reported, $530 million.  Murdoch with his vast worldwide media holdings could have matched, or exceeded, the selling price, which speaks highly of Jon Kelly and Family.  His principled decision not to sell the most precious pearl of Sacramento television stations, KCRA-TV, to Rupert Murdoch, kept the questionable, less than reputable, media practices, and news reporting, from infiltrating the television station and accurate information outlet, where for over forty years at that time, "The News Comes First". Now thirteen years later, the Murdoch Media Empire is in crisis and under very intense attack, for not only questionable, but corrupt acts, that the mainstream media reports included, prying, if not criminally interloping into the telephone calls, bank accounts, and family lives, of kidnap victim families and government leaders and their families.  The wrongness of their actions are serious enough for Murdoch to close down his leading Sunday British newspaper, the News Of The World.  Today, there are news reports, that other Murdoch newspapers, including, The Sun, were also carrying out the same kind of unseemly practices.  The turmoil that is roiling threatens not to end with just the closure of one 168 year old newspaper Rupert Murdoch has owned and operated since 1968.  It also endangers, if not precludes his chances of buying the remaing sixty percent of Britain's Sky Television, he does not yet own.  It may also open greater scrutiny and investigation, of the legality and propriety with which all of  Murdoch's major media possessions are operating and arriving at the news and information they gather.  Is it being done within the law and civil rights of all persons involved ?  Or are illegal and less than laudable, even immoral means being used hacking into computersand cell phones, invading personal and private records of a financial, or any other content, and being grossly insensitive and infinging on the privacy of families of missing and murdered children, and even paying off British Police to acquire telephone numbers of members of the Royals, so as track and sensationally, report on the whereabouts and activitities of The Windsors, often times inaccurately.  The credibility, durability, and survivability, of the Murdoch Media Monopoly, in so much of the World - is not at least uncertain, if not on the rapidly escalating slippery slope of decline, even fall.  At 80 years of age, Rupert Murdoch's personal ties to much of the British political establishment, including the current Prime Minister and chief members of his staff and government; while the immediate past Prime Minister Gordon Brown, is alledging potential majpor improprieties having been committed against himself and his family; may have a detrimental affect on his ability to remain at the helm of his News Corp. media enterprises.  Stateside, Americans think the next time you read the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, or view Fox News,  on cable, just how honestly, accurately, fair, and balanced, the news these Murdoch media possessions are really providing you and the American people.  If crimes have been committed Murdoch's money and power, must not be permitted to allow him or his conspiring, and involved, minions to escape justice.  And a first lesson from this travail seems perfectly clear :   no one person, or entity, should have monopolistic control over news, information, and communication.   Fair, and competitive, independent outlets, need also be be at the heart of these journalistic and broadcast endeavors...........In The Search For Justice And A Rightfully Responsible National And World Media That We Can Trust,   Fr.  Troy
