A MID SUMMER'S DAY OF INTERNATIONAL CELEBRATION...........

Today the Catholic-Christian Community celebrate the Memorial of St. Camillus de Lellis, a dedicated soldier of the Roman Empire, who became a convert and disciple of the Christian Faith.  He hailed from Abruzzi, Italy.  As a Christian Disciple, Camillus de Lellis devoted the remainder of his life to the care and healing of the Sick.   After celebrating the 8 a.m. Mass, I will enter what I call, "Monday-itis", the rapid fire, morning long, schedule of getting the coming week started.  Addressing the administrative details of parish life and receiving follow-up and fresh phone call and door bell messages, directing and instructing them according to their questions and needs.  Having received a dozen or more requests last week for financial assistance, which OLOL cannot provide due to our subsistent parish budget; I expect, especially beyond the middle of the month, that I will receive two or more such calls today.....  The chief focus of this day universally, by declaration of the current President of South Africa, is - "Mandella International Day", in honor of Nelson Mandella's 93rd Birthday today; and in recognition of prisoner and then president, Mandella's yeoman continuing contribution for fifty years plus, to the causes of freedom, dignity, and hguman rights.  I will blog more soon, about this truly exemplary citizen of the world in the 20th and 21st Centuries...........Long May The Truth Of Emanicipation And Freedom For The Progress Of All Peoples,   Fr.  Troy
