STARTING SEPTEMBER WITH THE FOCUS ON THE TEMPORAL AND PHYSICAL MAINTENANCE OF OLOL PARISH...........

Last night, just after 8 p.m., darkness had descended, a reminder at the end of August, that summer is slipping away, and autumn will be upon us in three weeks.  As September starts, my work as a Pastor, which doubles canonically as Administrator of OLOL Parish will place the majority of my time upon the budgetary temporalities of parish life, for the previous  Fiscal Year 2010 - 2011; as I sign and send the completed Parish Financial Report to the Bishop, and the Diocesan Financial Office.  Our report has been completed in readiness for review and sending since mid August, except for one set of certifiable information, from a parish ministry, that maintains funds, beyond the parish budget, but under the umbrella of the parish.  Getting that information and re-directing having the bank statements sent, for that ministry, like the other two in this catergory are, to the Parish Office, will resolve this day of deadline struggle in the future.  Catholic Christian Stewardship requires me as a priest and pastor, to be accountable in transparency and responsibility, to the Parish, the Diocese, and ultimately to the Judgment Seat of God.  Tonight, I will meet with the newly formed Parish Maintenance Committee.  This group has been convened to direct the carrying out of the physical maintenance of OLOL parish plant.  They will discuss with me the setting of short term, long term, and ongoing maintenance projects.   Many of these maintainence needs, like the serious and costly plumbing problem we experienced last month, have been deferred for many years, due to our historically tight and economically restrictive budget, where monetary matters have always been a challenge.  As the new Parish Year begins in ten days, we will be in the position of wholistically and effectively addressing the pastoral, spiritual, temporal, and physical, aspects of being Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, in northeast Sacramento / Del Paso Heights / Rio Linda / Elverta / Robla / ...........Happy September The Final One Third Of 2011,   Fr.  Troy
