ST. PETER CLAVER PLAYS A SPECIAL ROLE IN OLOL PARISH, AS THE PATRON OF THE KNIGHTS AND LADIES OF KPC...........

A decade ago, I first learned of the Knights and Ladies of St. Peter, that are a parish ministry here at OLOL, when I became Chairman of the Sacramento Diocesan Food Bowl.  At that time, the Knights and Ladies of St. Peter Claver,  KPC, provided a weekly feeding ministry in the parish known as St. Peter Claver's Kitchen. Today, they have been succeeded by the Feed The Hungry parish ministry, but they also continue to make an ongoing contribution to the betterment of OLOL community of believers.  This Sunday, KPC will be preparing and serving a delicious home cooked meal for the, "Handicapables", a diocesan ministry for the disable, that meets monthly in different parishes of the Sacramento Diocese, for Sunday Mass and a Luncheon, provided by the parish hosting the day.  The Handicapables have been coming to OLOL annually for nearly forty years, and the KPC are the cooks for the luncheon they are served.  Currently KPC, is also actively involved in OLOL's Parish-wide Parking Lot Sale, to be held on Saturday September 17, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., here at the church.  LOn this their patronal feast day, I salute them and wish them well, as they continue making a concrete contribution to the unity in community of OLOL Parish...........Fr.  Troy
