"DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME", IS THE THEME OF CATECHETICAL SUNDAY 2011...........

On this third Sunday of September, the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time liturgically; we mark 'Catechetical Sunday', the day each year we acknowledge and affirm the essential nature of religious education and faith formation, in lives of our parish communities.  We recognize the roles and responsibilities of our catechists, who teach our children and adults, the Catholic-Christianity, we profess and practice, as members of the Community of Believers.  The theme chosen by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, to celebrate this 2011 Catechetical Sunday, are words directly out of the Institutional Narrative of Sacred Scripture and the Eucharistic Prayers of the Church, as spoken by Jesus the Christ at the Lat Supper, "Do This In Memory Of Me".  As the young people and adults in your community of believers gather today or during the week, for Religious Education classes, R.C.I.A., the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, Scripture Study, or other forms of Adult Faith Formation and Family Catechesis, may what they do in exploring and imparting the Faith, honor Jesus proclamation, and do it in His memory, for the greater Glory of God, and the Common Good, of All in the Community of Believers, in Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Redeemer...........Fr.  Troy
