AN HONEST AND REALISTIC STATE OF THE STATE ADDRESS BY GOVERNOR BROWN GIVEN CALIFORNIA's $28.8 BILLION FISCAL CRISIS...........

California Govrnor Brown delivered his 8th 'State of the State' Address, last night, laying out his Plan to eliminate California's massive Budget Crisis. His proposal is to cut $12.5 billion in spending and $12 billion in a five year continiation of current tax increases. Ithink Governor Brown Proposal is reasonable, as well as drastically necessary, if we are to eradicate and redirect the economy and financial stability of California. That is unless we choose to do nothing and worsen our State, or endure the further draconian spending cuts to Education, Public Safety, the Safety Net, and Health Care, vital to all Californians; especially our most vulnerable citizens. What the Governor is proposing will only be enacted by the Vote of the California People. What viable alternative can those who oppose Governor Brown's proposal offer ? If we continue to delay and deny dealing with depth of the deficit we are buried under what will we do to resolve this seriously crippling deficit ? Kicking the can down the road is not acceptable and will only further compound and exacerbate the problem.
