IS THERE A THIRD MOVE FOR ME IN THIS POST AMPUTATION REHABILITATION PERIOD ?...........

Now that things are settling down a bit here at Bruceville Terrace, after the consternation of my unerven start contending with the lack of internet access and being confronted with the difficulty of a double patient room and a fellow patient with constant 24 hour nursing needs, that kept me awake most of the night, four night's in a row, the crescendo being my less than ninety minutes of sleep Sunday night. My near octogenerian roommate, went to a Doctor's appointment in Grass Valley yesterday and did not return. He was placed in th hospital up there. I had a quiet and peaceful day and night, sleeping solidly for multiple hours and rising to a much different day, than the previous five. At 1:55 p.m., the facility Activities Director came to assist me with my antibiotic infusion machine down to the main dining room for Mass. Upon my return just about 3 p.m., a new 47 year old man, Mr. Baker, also an amputee of a year or so, who still does not have a prostheses due to complications. So my shared room experience continues, but at least now I have the computer, with the possibility of opening my interactive window to the world and communicate, at any hour, under the circumstances I have just experienced during the past week, I will be able to withstand less than ideal setting for the days or weeks it may take. With the Business Office closing within the hour on the first day back after the three day weekend, I have heard nothing today yet about arrangements for my possible transfer to Mercy General Rehabilitation Center. I am indicated my desire to be transferred with a individual room and internet being essential to doing so, but I await to learn whether or not it will occur, or I have twenty more scheduled days here finishing out the rehab therapy and skilled nursing, I must complete before returning to the rectory on what is expected to be March 19, St. Joseph's Day, which was my mother's patronal feast day, along with the relatively new feast day of Canossian, Josephine Bakita, who OLOL's Sister Felicity met as a kindergartner herself at age 5, in Italy. After today's official schedule of activities, a morning shower, in the chair assisted with by the Nursing Assistant; Morning Meds from the Nurse; a 1 hour O.T. session, moving on and off the shower bench, using the transfer board in the bath tub; a P.T. session of one hour's length also, standing several more times on my left foot and leg with support from the therapist. Today I accomplished another new high of 2 minutes 30 seconds, 45 seconds longer than yesterday, followed by more stretching exercises on the mat; that led right into lunch and a quick but meaningful visit from my fraternity brother, Mark Peterson; Catholic Mass, at 2 p.m.; meeting my new roommate upon my return to the room; today's visit from Roger Geach, and his Elk Grove neighbor Elmer; and then finishing this blog column before dinner in just minutes, as it is now 5 p.m.; besides some time to rest after dinner.....
.....Then, I I must nail down my rides from within my circle from friends and parishioners to my three doctors' appointments in Roseville, over the next six days. Tomorrow morning at 10:45a.m., I have an appointment with Dr. Cookson, in his office on Sunrise Blvd.; this Friday, at 1:30 p.m., I have an appointment at Sutter Roseville Hospital Medical Plaza, with Dr. Kaliyan, the Infectious Diseases specialist; and next Monday at 10:30 a.m., I have an appointment with Dr. Bhat in his office on North Sunrise Avenue. Anyone of my personal friends, or parishioners past or present, who can be my transportation to these appointments, please call me right away.....That's all for now, as my evening meds arrive and dinner is just behind them. thank you all, for your ongoing care, concern, prayers, calls, cards, calls, and visits. I am greatly blessed that an array of so many exceptionally charitable and conscientious persons have and are, for several decades now affirming and rounding out the ups and downs of my life..........With Trust This Too Will Succeed Permiting My Priestly Ministry As Pastor Of Our Lady Of Lourdes Parish To Proceed, Fr.
