THE EASTER MARIAN MONTH OF MAY CONCLUDES WITH THE FEAST OF THE VISITATION OF THE BVM...........

The thirty one days of May now ending, have been an unusual experience weather-wise, in the United States and elsewhere, especially given the unprecedented, record setting, number of tornadoes as well as the flooding that has taken placed during these Easter and Marian Days, in this Month of Mary, Mothers, and the Rosary.  Last Wednesday at Bishop Daly's Episcopal Ordination in San Jose, the Lector of the First Reading from Sacred Scripture, was a Religious Sister of the Visitation.  They were the parochial school teachers of Bishop Daly and his sisters and brothers, at St. Brendan's Parish, in the Sunset District of San Francisco, where +Tom's mother, "the widow Daly", as he referred to her in his Ordination Mass remarks as Auxiliary Bishop,  still resides.  The Visitation Sisters religious order is named for the liturgical feast and Gospel pericope of May 31, the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, to her cousin Elizaberh.  Mary bearing the child Jesus in her womb, traveled into the Judean hill country to be with her elderly cousin Elizabeth, who at advanced age and childless, thought to be sterile, was expecting her son, John.  Their three month visitation together was a familial and prophetic gathering, as both Jesus the Christ, and John the Baptist, were to be central and pivotal instruments in the Salvation History of Humankind.  Mary's "Fiat", her unconditional Yes to God, is a shining light for all of us who follow her Son, Who is God's Co-Eternal and Redeeming Son.  May your daily visitation with the Lord of Life and Resurrection, shape your generous and selfless response to the Divine invitation to be Disciples of Living Faith and Eternal Love...........Hail Mary, Mother Of God, Pray For Us, Who Strive To Say Yes, As Loyally As You Said Yes To God's Plan,   Fr.  Troy
