BLOGGING, "ROMANA"; THE BEATIFICATION OF POPE JOHN PAUL II...........

Conferral of the Sacrament of Confirmation at OLOL, with our Religious Education students and young people from Our Lady of Czestochowa Polish Community, at which Bishop Soto presided at a concelebrated 2nd Sunday of Easter Mass, with myself, Father Pius and Fr. Traynor, at 10:30 am, was a wonderful celebration of the Holy Spirit, and was preached by Bishop Soto, with a penetrating message of conscientiousness and challenge for the young people; to put the power of the Holy Spirit effectively at work in their lives, as they live their Catholic-Christian Faith and Initiation.  My former parishioner and friend, Steve Fischer, owner of the Togo's Sandwiches, provided a light lunch of turkey, ham, roast beef, and tuna, sandwiches for the small group that joined with Bishop Soto and I, in the rectory afterwards.  The Confirmandi and their families were treated to a spaghetti meal in the Parish Hall, prepared by their Catechists and the Knights of Columbus.....
One of the best things Catholic Television and Radio, do in the United States, is their coverage of major, live, special events, such as today's Beatification ceremonies of the late, Pope John Paul II.  I saw a portion of it live, overnight and am watching the rebroadcast, as I blog.  Raymond Arroyo, and his assembled commentators, Father Rymond DeSousa, and Joan Lewis,  are leading the preparatory remarks, as the procession into St. Peter's Basilica concludes, and Pope Benedict XVI. incenses the high altar, before an overflow congregation of worshippers, and what is estimated to be more than 2 million persons in Rome today, double the number of persons in London, on Friday, for the Royal Wedding...........Here's hoping you will view, listen, or read about, some of these solemn rites of blessing that declares Karol Wojtyla, Blessed John Paul II, the last step to canonized sainthood...........God's Divine Mercy, Easter Peace -   Fr.  Troy
