OLOL's TOM MCLOUGHLIN - ETERNAL REST GRANT UNTO HIM O LORD...........

Tom and Ora Mae McLoughlin, have been a mainstay couple in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, for many decades going back to the Mission in Rio Linda, and the founding of the Parish in 1957.  They are an obviously very loving married couple, now well into their 80's, and still faithful in their Mass attendance and loyal in their participation in Parish.  Over the past ten months, I have gotten to known them very well, not only at Masses and parish ministry events, but regularly, at weekday breakfasts they invited Father Traynor annd I, to join them for at the venerable Sammy's Restaurant, on Del Paso Boulevard, which opened in 1944.  We even have a regular table !!!!  On Sunday morning they were getting ready to come to church, when Tom suffered a blood clot to the brain and was left paralyzed and with a bleed.  Tom was treated at Mercy San Juan Hospital for two days, before expiring this morning.  Fr.  Traynor called me with the news of Tom's passing and I spoke for some time with Ora Mae this evening, after the Parish Finance Council Budget Meeting.  Funeral arrangements are pending for this fine man and good parishioners.  My thoughts, prayers, sympathy, and support, go out to the McLoughlin, and I have begun prayers for him tonight and will remember him at Masses beginning in the morning.  Eternal Rest Grant Unto His Holy Soul, O Lord And Let Perpetual Light Shine Upon Him; May He Rest In Peace...........Alleluia !!!  Amen !!!   Fr.  Troy
