"CANADA VOTES 2011" : WILL PRIME MINISTER HARPER AND THE CONSERVATIVES RETAIN POWER; OR WILL THE LIBERAL PARTY WIN BACK THE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT ?...........

Canadians go to the polls today in a Federal Election, to decide whether Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his new, Conservative Party be given a majority government, for the first time in its five years in power.  At this 7 pm Pacific and 10 pm Eastern Time , on Canadian Election Night 2011, the CBC, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, is projecting a first place finish for the ruling Conservative Party, led by Prime Minister Stephen J. Harper.  Prime Minister Harper's chief opponents, the Liberal Party, led by Michael Ignatieff, and the New Democrats Party, led by Jack Layton, are expected to reverse positions; with the New Democrats projected as finishing in second place, and the Liberals in third place.  Presently, the statistics show the Canadian Conservatives, with 39% of the vote; the New Democrats, 30% of the vote; and the Liberals, with 25% of the vote.  It is unclear at this hour, whether Prime Minister Harper and the Conservatives will form a majority or minority government.  But it seems all but certain, that the New Democrats Jack Layton, will be the Official Oppostion Leader in the new Canadian Parliament, coming out of today's election.  A second place finish for the New Democrats Party, follows a surge towards the party in recent days, to the detriment of the Liberal Party.  The Liberal Leader, Michael Ignatieff, says he wants to stay in that position, whether or not, the election is won or lost.  So, it seems the governmental leadership of North America, will remain as is, for the next year and a half, as both the United States and Mexico, have Presidential Elections in 2012...........Fr.  Troy
