THE 16TH DAY OF EASTER - PRIESTLY ANNIVERSARY OF SOON TO BE BISHOP THOMAS DALY...........

One week after our Diocese of Sacramento Ordination to the Priesthood of Jesus Christ, twenty four years ago last week, Fathers Eduino Silveira, Paul Schloeder, and I, were in St. Mary's Cathedral,  on May 9, 1987, for the Ordination of our Archdiocese of San Francisco classmates from St. Patrick.'s Seminary, in Menlo Park.  Among the four priests ordained that day, was the Reverend Thomas A. Daly, our youngest classmate, and native San Franciscan.  Sixteen days from now, Reverend Father Tom Daly, will be ordained to the fullness of the Sacrament of Holy Orders, when he becomes the first Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of San Jose.  Father Daly has ministered as a Parochial Vicar in parishes in Novato and San Francisco, has been Pastor of a parish in Novato, been the part-time Chaplain to the San Francisco Police Department, Vocations Director of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, and for the past nineteen years, a Teacher and Principal, at Marin Catholic High School.
In two weeks and two days, he begins the next chapters of his ordained ministry, in the fullness of the Priesthood of Jesus Christ, as a Bishop of the Church.  Well done Fr. Daly, in twenty years of magnificent priestly, pastoral, and educational, ministry.  Please God, the Lord Jesus, and the Church, who have called you to the Episcopacy, Will Bless You Even More With An Effective And Productive Ministry To The People Of God In San Jose.......... .Fraternally In The Risen Christ,
Fr.  Troy
