ACCURATE PROPHECY OR ERRONEOUS PREDICTION ??....."THE RAPTURE", SAID TO BE COMING THIS SATURDAY @ 6 PM...........

Christian Radio host Harold Camping, a so called, "Biblical Scholar", is proclaiming the coming of the Rapture, the end of the World, this Saturday at 6 pm, in respective time zones.  An interesting prediction that the whole of Creation as we know it, will not end simultaneously, but as every day does; including Christmas, Easter, and other events : as 6 pm arrives in each of the world's time zones.  Mr. Camping does not seem to have much to base his prediction on, except for his own declaration.  And this is not the first time, Harold Camping, has prophesied the end of the World.  He did so before, in 1994; and here we are, seventeen years later, being confronted with another of his predictions.  Are humans so gullible today, as to put any credence into this prediction, after the person making the prediction, has been definitively proven wrong once before ?  Do the majority of persons and or believers, around the globe, put the word of an already erroneous person, ahead of the Word of Jesus The Christ, that only God the Father knows the time and the date of the Second Coming, the End Time, also called the Rapture, will occur.  If indeed the World should end at 6 pm this Saturday May 21, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish will conclude with the completion of our Sunday Vigil Mass, a commendable note of fidelity to Prayer, Worship, and Ministry, as God's People.  Although it is not likely this Saturday at 6 pm, is the End of the World, there is an attribute to considering it, as if it causes more people to live their lives in loyalty to the Gospel Values, that will make the Rapture an authentic Faith experience, and not a fear driven manipulation with questionable motivations of self interest, that abuse, rather than honors Humankind's true relationship with the Divine...........Fr.  Troy
