"CANADA VOTES 2011" : CONSERVATIVES STILL WELL OUT IN FRONT IN FEDERAL ELECTION TONIGHT...........

The Conservative Party of Canada, has so far won 154 seats in Parliament and has 40% of the vote; with the New Democrats in second place with 97 seats won, and 31% of the vote; the Liberal Party is trailing in third place, with 29 seats won, and 19% of the vote; the Bloc Quebecois Party has 2 seats and 6% of the vote; and the Green Party, has won 1 seat, and 3% of the vote.  In a most interesting development coming out of this election tonight, two of the five political party leaders were defeated for re-election to their own parliamentary seats.  In Canada, parliamentary districts are called, "Ridings".  Conservative Leader and Prime Minister Stephen Harper; New Democrats Leader Jack Layton; and Green Party Leader Elizabeth May, were all re-elected by their home constituencies; but Liberal Party Leader Michael Ignatieff; and Bloc Quebecois Leader Gilles Duceppe; were defeated for re-election in their own constituencies.  So despite his desire to continue as Liberal Party Leader, Michael Ignatieff, will be leaving the Canadian Parliament.
No Independents have as yet been elected tonight, so we still await the determination as to whether the Conservatives will for the first time during Stephen Harper's time as Prime Minister, be forming a majority government...........More To Come As Canada Votes 2011 Election Count Continues,   Fr.
