SACRAMENTO PREPARES TO SAY GOODBYE TO OUR BELOVED KINGS BASKET TEAM...........

Wednesday night April 13, may well have been the last game played by the Sacramento Kings pro basketball team here in our Capital City of California.  After 26 years as our, 'Hometown NBA Team", it now increasingly seems the current owners, the Maloofs, will move the team to Anaheim, California; widely known throughout the World, as the home of, Disneyland. Sacramento can be proud that for more than a quarter of a century we have been the home of a professional, NBA League team, that has had the faithful fan loyalty of tens of thousands Kings Baskletball Fans in the wider Sacramento Area.  How many nights in the past twenty six years have the fans packed the Arco Arena / now PowerBalance Pavillon, through the ups and downs of Kings teams and players, as well as change in ownership, as we cheered on our Kings.  It will be sad to see them leave for Anaheim or any other city.  It is unfortunate the owners, the citizens of Sacramento, and the NBA, could not arrive at a compromise agreement to fund and build a new Kings Arena.  As they prepare to depart Sacramento and move their team; I believe the Maloof Family, who atre honorable and decent people, should do the right and responsible act, and agree in writing, to repay the City of Sacramento, the $77 million loan that was granted to the Kings in good faith.  In our capitalist, free enterprise, American society, business persons, like all citizens, must be held to account for, and honor their debts.  The Kings franchise ownership  owes the payment of the loan to Sacramento, and must agree to pay it in full, in good faith, or be seen as taking advantage of Sacramentans' generosity.  Kudos to Mayor Kevin Johnson and the group of local citizens who have organized in support of keeping and advocating for the continuation of the Kings / and or another NBA franchise team in Sacramento.  We deserve to proceed with an NBA team regardless of the current outcome.   THANK YOU SACRAMENTO KINGS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  For The Twenty Six Years Of Entertainment And Enjoyment, As Well As Civic Pride, You Have Brought To The Greater Sacramento Region...........Gratefully, Yet Sad To See You Go,   Fr.  Troy
