TAKING THE HOLINESS OF SUNDAY INTO THE REST OF OUR WEEK...........

As Monday of the 28th Week in Ordinary Time dawns, and we move into the work week it brings, how does the Catholic-Christian observance of the Sabbath, and the command to keep the Lord's Day holy, go with us into the rest of the week ?  Our practice of Sunday prayer, worship, and ministry, of faith, fellowship, and fidelity, to spiritually, socially, charitably, and reflectively, celebrate Sunday, does not STOP, Monday - Saturday, but rather is adapted to the other commitments, responsibilities, and work, we must also do as loyal disciples, and pro-active citizens.  For me and most other priests, it opens the continuous cycle of addressing the wholistic nature of parish life and ministries, as I will do this morning and afternoon.  Tonight the annual diocesan Priests' Study Days begin, and will continue through Friday afternoon, concluding with the Funeral Mass and Burial, of Reverend Monsignor Patrick J. O'Neill, in Vallejo.  Therefore, this week will be different, and yet similar to many weeks of priestly, pastoral, ministry, with add-ons included.  As you head out the door, or begin work at home this morning, if you do not have a Columbus Day holiday day off, ponder on how your faithful observance of Sunday, is reflected in this week, as you will live it.  Unless the hallmarks of your Discipleship are evident in your actions, attitudes, reactions, and responses, to who and what you encounter daily, there is a big hole in your Catholic-Christianity, that must be closed to make your Faith fully fruitful.  Praying The Week Unfolding Reflects Your Wholistic Following Of Jesus The Christ,   Fr.  Troy
