ST. JUAN DIEGO, HUMBLE, HOLY, MAN OF FAITH..........

The second night of OLOL's Parish Advent Mission increased in attendance by more than double, as Father Steven Avella continued his preaching on how we as Disciples of the One Supreme Light of the World, can became better, stronger, bearers of the Advent Light ourselves.  His living example last night, of bringing Light and Hope, is Sacramento Bishop Emeritus Francis Anthony Quinn, who continues to, "exude" and shine the Light of Jesus the Christ with humility and holiness, as in his 90th year of life.....   .....A young Aztec Indian in Mexico who experienced three apparitions from the Blessed Mother, was instructed by her to have a church built on the site where she appeared to him.  Juan Diego tried to encourage the building of a church in the   Our Lady's honor, after the first two apparitions, but the local Bishop was not convinced to do so.  In her third appearance the Virgin Mary instructed Juan Diego to fill the tilma, the cape he was wearing with roses to gain the Bishop's support.  Miraculously, as Juan Diego was meeting with the Bishop, the roses changed into an image of Our Lady of Guadaupe, which convinced the Bishop to built the Church.  The humbleness and holiness, of Juan Diego, and his willingness to follow through in doing as the Blessed Mother told him, bore fruit that has led to a Shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe, that is universally acclaimed and visited by pilgrims worldwide, and a devotion to Our Lady under the mantle of Guadalupe that now sees her as Patroness of the the Americas and of the UnBorn.  All because of the cooperation and responsiveness of a young Aztec Indian man, who became a catalyst for belief and prayer..........St. Juan Diego / Our Lady of Guadalupe,  Pray For Us, Especially All Latino North And South Americans,   Fr.  Troy
