LIFE, LIGHT, LOVE, COMPRISE THE CHRISTMAS FEAST OF THE HOLY FAMILY - OF JESUS, MARY, JOSEPH,...........

Only 208 persons attended Mass at OLOL, on this 2nd Day of Christmas, and the Feast of the Holy Family.  It is the lowest Sunday Mass attendance here in the twenty six weeks, since I became Pastor of OLOL in July.  This has a tendency to occur when Christmas Day falls on Saturday, and the Feast of the Holy Family on the next day.  Not only do the Chreasters : Christmas and Easter Catholics - not appear, but many of the Faithful take a holiday from Sunday Mass today, too.  Jesus, Mary, Joseph, as the Holy Family in their home in Nazareth provide us with insight into how our interpersonal and nuclear familes, as well as the Family of God and Faith, and the Family of Humankind, should live.  We must place a priority on the Life we lead as Believers in Jesus as our Lord and Savior.  We are also called by our Holy Redeemer to follow the Light of Salvation, the Christ Child shines forth in the homes of our hearts.  And we are meant to discover and experience the Love of the Messiah, for us and all God's People.  The Feast of the Holy Family teaches us to fortify our own families in the Joy and Peace of the Christmas Season.  May your family celebrations of Christmas Faith, Fellowship, and Friendship continue the next two weeks in ways that shine forth the authentic Life, Light, and Love, we receive as our mutual share in the Holy Birth of Jesus The Christ..........Fr.  Troy
