SHOULD THE UPPER TWO PERCENT OF AMERICANS CONTINUE TO INORDINATELY BENEFIT FROM BUSH ERA TAX CUTS ?..........

With 2010 only 25 days from ending, Washington politics and National interest is focused in a major way on the expiration or extension of the Bush Administration era Tax Cuts.  Should the tax cuts in effect the past nine years be continued for all taxpayers, those making a quarter of a million dollars or more a year, or just for the middle class taxpayers making less than $250,000.00, annually ?  The other concerns facing the lameduck 111th Congress are all but being held hostage to a resolution of the exctension of the Bush Tax Cuts to all, including millionaires and billionaires, by Congressional Republicans who argue the recession and its slow recovery is no time to raise taxes on any Americans.  President Obama and the Democrats are seeking to continue the tax cuts for those earning less than $250,000,00, but end thyem for those with higher income, the upper 2% of Americans.  A compromise decision is in the works that would extend the tax cuts for everyone for an additional two years, while extending UnEmployment Benefits for 2 million Americans which began running out last week, just as we enter the Christmas Season.  With issues like UnEmployment, the new START Treaty, Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and Jobs, on the Congressional docket, bipartisanship and getting their jobs done should be the focus of the Representatives and Senators, not more political gamesmanship, that only create girdlock and waste the time and money of our nation at a critical economic juncture in our history..........Asking For Responsible And Accountable Governance,   Fr.  Troy
