ELIZABETH EDWARDS, 1949-2010.....WHAT SHE TAUGHT US ABOUT CARRYING ON DESPITE ADVERSITY..........

Elizabeth Edwards, a wife, mother, lawyer, Senator's wife, Vice Presidential nominee spouse, Presidential candidate campaigner for her husband, author, health care reform advocate, and personal cancer fighter, died on Tuesday, after a valiant six year struggle with breast and bone cancer.  She was 61 years old.  A native of North Carolina, who went to law school with her future husband, with whom she had four children, losing her oldest son Wade, at age 16, in a tragic car accident, having her youngest two children when she was 49 and 51 years old; she bravely endured the loss of a child, spousal infidelity, after more than 30 years of a happy marriage, and breast and bone cancer, with determination and the resolve to live, and not surrender.  During her six years with cancer, she authoired two books on her life story and coping with cancer, to help others understand and deal with such crises.  Remaining resolute to be a loving motherr to her children, survive the heartache of her husband's extra marital affair, from which he ultimately admitted to fathering a child, aqnd keeping up her personal support for national health care reform, all while fighting to conquer her cancer, Elizabeth Edwards leaves behind a legacy of perseverance and hope.  May her hope for Life and Love, now be granted to her everlastingly, by the Eternal God.  Rest In Peace Elizabeth Edwards,   Fr.  Troy
