ST. JOHN OF THE CROSS, PRIEST.....DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH.....MYSTIC..........

St. John of the Cross was a friend and confere of St. Teresa of Avila in 16th Century Spain.  Dissatisfied with the direction their Carmelite Religious Order had taken, they became great reformers and established what is known as the Discalced Carmeliries, (meaning without shoes).  John of the Cross was a Bishop, and like his colleague Teresa of Avila, a Doctor of the Church.  They were both authors and John of the Cross wrote several books of what are considered mystical theology and spirituality.  Our Advent lesson from John of the Cross, through the centuries is the ability we possess to reform the spirituality and direction of our lives as we make the Lord's Way ready and Joyfully watch and wait for  the Messiah's Coming this Christmas and in Future Glory..........Come Lord Jesus, COME !!!..........Fr.  Troy
