HEARTBREAK WEEK IN THE HEARTLAND............

It has been a sad and destructive week in the American heartland, from the tragic and senseless high school shootings in Ohio, to the devastating upheaval of tornadoes in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio, along with one in the southern states of Tennessee, and Alabama.  The three high school students who were starting their school day on Monday morning, seated at a cafeteria table normally at one moment and suddenly and inexplicably shot by a fellow student the next, resulting in their deaths; and the path of destruction caused by multiple tornadoes in six American states over the past few days; has brought intense sorrow to families and communities, caused by these acts of violence and nature, that touches the core of how precious life is in the order of  Creation.  Can anyone aware of these occurrences not have your hearts, minds, and prayers, go out to the grieving families and decimated communities so tragically affected and adversely leveled by the loss of life thrust upon the three teenage students by a homicidal act; and the twenty or more persons, killed by these natural disasters ?  In these hours of human separation and sorrowful farewells in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, and Alabama, may our sensitivity, sympathy, and solidarity, reach out interpersonally and spiritually for the victims and their loved ones, as these communities strive to cope and reconstruct their lives............Fr.  Troy    

Update : 3-3-12 >>>As of early Saturday morning 32 deaths have been confirmed in the six tornado stricken states, and there are further tormado warnings in Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina......
The first of the three student funerals will also take place today in Chardon, Ohio.<<<............tdp
