WHY DO CATHOLIC-CHRISTIANS CALL THIS SORROWFUL FRI-DAY, GOOD ?............

There will be a 2 p.m. Good Friday Liturgical Service in the MMT Chapel, just as congregations of the faithful will gather for the second  movement of this Sacred Triduum of Liturgy, today's commemoration focused on the Passion and Death of Jesus The Christ.  The Liturgical Service here will start with the Stations of the Cross followed by the prescribed rites of the Liturgy of the Word anchored in the proclamation of Christ's Passion; expanded General Intercessions, the Veneration of the Cross, and Holy Communion. Despite the somber and solemn tone the sufferings and Crucifuxion of Jesus causes us to feel on this day of sorrowful unfolding in salvation history, it is called "Good Friday", in acknowledgement that the goodness and grace of Redemption has been gained for those who believe in the Paschal Mystery of God's Co-Eternal Son, the Christ of All Creation.  May you, your families, and all our fellow disciples in Jesus The Christ, take time today to acknowledge and honor in prayerful presence our gratitude for the Passion, Death, and Resurrection, of Jesus that we may experience the abundance of Everlasting Life in God's Kingdom............Fr.  Troy
