PRAYING FOR THE SOUL AND CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF PRAXEDES DELEON............

The thunder and lightning during the night has a sizable rain storm following it this morning, as I awake and get started in readiness to attend the Funeral Mass of Praxedes DeLeon, mother of Reverend Father Benedict DeLeon.  I will join my brother diocesan priests in concelebrating with Father Ben, the rites of commendation and farewell for his beloved mother, at a 10 a.m. Mass in St. Paul's Church in Florin, the DeLeon Family's home parish.  My plan to ride to the funeral with Msgr. Ed Kavanagh has fallen by the wayside, as he has a parish funeral at St. Rose's Church this morning himself, so I will instead be traveling to Florin  by taxi at 9 a.m.  In gratitude for Praxedes life of faithfulness to God, and fidelity to the Church, for the love she shared with her Family, and the outstanding example of Catholic-Christian Discipleship she lived in raising stellar children that includes a native born, locally grown, vocation to the Priesthood of Jesus Christ in Fr. Ben, who is truly one of the outstanding priests of our generation; we lift our hearts and minds to the Lord in praying, Eternal Rest Grant Unto Her Soul o Lord, and Let Perpetual Light Shine Upon Her...Alleluia !  Amen !!   Fr.  Troy
