ADVENT, CHRISTMAS, INTERSECT WITH THANKSGIVING @ CHURCH...........

With just two days to our American Day of National Consecretion, ThanksGiving - and a focus on the bounty of blessings of Life and Faith each person has received to some extent, especially those of us who are Catholic-Christian Disciples of Jesus, the Co-Eternal Son of God, and Savior of the World, it is also a prime preparatory time to make ready for the liturgies and other activities of the Seasons of Advent and Christmas.  Sister Felicity is working on the Advent Wreath for our church sanctuary; Frances Hood has been sorting out the various calls for Christmas baskets coming into the Parish Office; writing, organizing, the Christmas message and schedule. and ordering the sufficent number of announcement folders and offertory envelopes for Christmas, have been on my radar screen the past week.  It is the most wonderful time of the year, for so many holiday, faith, family, and festive reasons, but also with the vital additional activities and events that authenticate the reason for the season.  The key for us however, is not to let the intersecting of ThanksGiving, Advent, Christmas, pre-empt the significance of any one of them, or cause us to prematurely celebrate the hyped, even artificial, observances of this sacred time of the year.  How ready are You for ThanksGiving, Advent, Christmas, in that order  ?...........In The Holy Name Of Jesus The Christ,   Fr.  Troy
