THERE WILL BE A SUNDAY BULLETIN, BUT THE THIRD TIME IS NOT SO CHARMING..........

Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Sunday Bulletin is printed by the JS Paluch Company, after we prepare it in the Parish Office and transmit by a computer PDF program to them.  It is due to them on Tuesday afternoon at 1 pm.  Tuesday mornings are a busy time weekly preparing, proofreading and transmitting the Sunday bulletin copy.  This week was unlike most any other weeks to date in my pastorate, as the bulletin for this Sunday November 7, had to be wordprocessed not once, but three times.  The first two times it was done and proofed, ready to be put in final PDF form for transmission, this computer froze, ate the copy, and left either a blank page or a page with just the bulletin outline, minus the written copy.  Tuesday's 1 pm, became a Thursday 2 pm submission, and a rush to transmit it in time to receive the distribution ready bulletins back, so that the proofreading process was quickened, and as a result I  count at least typographical errors in the published copy. Trust me parishioners - I am not that thick.  I abhor errors like this, but alas it can't be changed now.  Which makes me wonder what didn't the computer like about this week's Sunday Bulletin ?  If it were going to place tricks on OLOL shouldn't it have been the Halloween Bulletin instead ?  Ha Ha..........I blog about this experience to share the lighthearted side of parish work, that can sometimes go all right, and other times like this go very wrong.  Until I figure out what caused this to occur, I plan on taking a deep breath and resolve to not rush any part of the final transmission process, the next time.  After all the most frustrating and embarrassing part is to see and read all those additional or missing letters in some of the printed words, capitalization that isn't intended, and the sloppy incompletion, of what should be a clear, clean, crisp, and concise, presentation of pertinent parish news.........In The Hopes Of Vanquishing This Computer Glitz,   Fr.  Troy
