ADVANCING IMMIGRATION REFORM IN THE USA THIS YEAR.............

With the United States Senate having widely passed a bipartisan Immigration Reform Bill earlier this year, legislation that seriously needs to be adopted and enacted; and now that the nonsense of squandering more than nine months of the 113th Congress, forcing a three week Government Shutdown and risking the closest possibility of National Financial Default in the entire history of the United States, because of a political fringe and campaign posturing in the House of Representatives, compelled by 3 Freshmen Senators looking to run for President in 2016; it is over time that for the Members of the House to also honestly debate and then pass Immigration Reform this year, before their end  of year recess.  President Obama this week reiterated his support and proposal for Immigration Reform and must also dedicate himself to working with all members of the House in getting an acceptable compromise bill passed and Immigration Reform Bill passed without further delays and stalling.  Speaker Boehner needs to step out of his Tea Party fears of derailing and extinguishing his hold on being Speaker of the House and forge a consensus with his House majority Republicans and Leader Pelosi and her fellow Democratic House members.  Compromise is not a dirty word, but an essential definition of politics and governance.  As any learned Political Science 1 /Government 101 student knows from their studies, Compromise is necessary, as in a democracy no individual, group, or party, gets everything they want or demand.  Finding common ground and forming a consensus that serves the common good is required much, if not most of the time.  The clock on calenDar year 2013 is melting away.  Get to work Congress and the White House and get Immigration Reform DONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!.............Fr.  Troy David
