VICTORS...CHRISTIE IN NEW JERSEY...MCAUFLIFFE IN VIRGINIA...DEBLASIO IN NEW YORK...IN ELECTION '13.............

Republican incumbent Chris Christie was re-leected to a second term as Governor of New Jersey tonight with more than 60% of the vote against Democratic State Senator Mary Buono.  I n a well crafted Victory speech Governor Christie strongly hinted at, and all but declared his campaign for President 2016.  Meanwhile, in Virginia Democratic Fundraiser and former Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe won the Governorship of the Old Dominion, over Republican State Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, by a margin of about 1-3% of the vote.  New York City elected its first Democratic Mayor in 20 years with the double digits win by Bill DeBlasio, who ran as an unabashedly progressive candidate in the overwhelmingly Democratic city after two decades of moderate Conservative Republican Mayors Rudolph  Guiliani and Michael Bloomberg.  More blogging about the results of today's off year elections in coming days.............fr.tdp
