RETURN TO CITRUS HEIGHTS - PERMANENT DIACONATE MINISTRY OF ACOLYTE MASS.............

This morning I returned for a few hours to my first parish as a Priest of Jesus Christ in the Diocese of Sacramento, Holy Family from July 1, 1987-September 25, 1988; which I served as Associate Pastor. On November 24, 2000, I returned to Holy Family Parish, Citrus Heights, as the Pastor until June 27, 2005.  Today I was back there for the Concelebrated Mass with Bishop Soto and 11 other priests for the Ministry of Acolyte, of the 20 Permanent Diaconate Class who will be ordained deacons next June 28, 2014.  Among them are Paul Friedrich from Presentation Parish in the Sacramento Arden area; Mark Hronicek, of Holy Family Parish in Citrus Heights; and Tim Louie, from Weed/Yreka, in Siskiyou County.  I was proud and privileged to be present with them today as they were initiated into the final ministry and ritual step in their final months before Ordination to the Permanent Diaconate.............Fr.  Troy David
