BACK IN SAC AFTER ATTENDING PARTNERSHIP 2013 REAFFIRMED AS A DISABLED PRIEST.............

Following the wonderfulness of spending two days with members of the National Catholic Partnership for Disability in Convention at the Marriott West Chase Hotel in Houston, Texas; I have returned to Sacramento tonight for Fr. Steven Foppiano's Funeral in the morning and in time to celebrate my birthday tomorrow.  The NCPD interaction reaffirmed my determination to forge ahead in pushing forward to preserve my priestly vocation and do more to reach out and incorporate those with special needs into full participation in the Body of Christ as welcome and inclusive members in the one and only Church Jesus founded as His Community of Believers throughout the World.  Continue to ponder, pray, and act, with me and the 14 million Catholics in the USA who are Disabled, that the Church at every level will be open and accommodating to making the Catholic Church accessible and empowering of all who seek a place to worship, minister, evangelize, and socialize, with their Brothers and Sisters in Christ.  That they be unfettered by obstacles and obstructions, but rather inviting them to fulfill their Discipleship in the Lord of All Life and the inviolable right to Human Dignity.............Father Troy David
