NCPD KEYNOTE SPEAKER NUMBER TWO IN HOUSTON @ PARTNERSHIP 2013.............

On Saturday morning November 2, All Souls Day and the Commemoration of the Faithful Departed, in our Catholic-Christian Faith Tradition, the NCPD Partnership 2013 Gathering was presented with a Keynote Address by Dr. Arturo Chavez, the President and CEO of the Mexican American Catholic College, MACC; in San Antonio, Texas.  Dr. Chavez addressed us on the topic of, 'The Transforming Power Of Faith'.  Dr. Chaez spoke passionately about how we who are Disciples of Jesus in the Catholic Christian Church in today's Church must be transformed by those with Disabilities to fervently encounter and include them just as Jesus did in the Gospels. The work and ministry of the National Catholic Partnership for Disability and the 71 Dioceses in the United States   who were present in  Galveston Houston November 1-3, are a contemporary example of the effectiveness Accessibility and Inclusion of the Disabled in our Faith Communities provides the National and Universal Church.  I found Dr. Chavez's presentation and the work he and his colleagues at MACC in San Antonio are doing cause for optimism and a high motivation to more assiduously incorporate the 14 million Disabled Catholics in the Church.............fr.tdp
