TODAY'S FUNERAL FOR REVEREND FATHER TERRY FULTON.............

The Funeral  Mass and Committal Service for Father Terry Fulton, a nineteen year Priest of the Diocese of Sacramento, who died on November 6th, as the Pastor of St. Maria Goretti Parish in SouthEast Elk Grove, were held today in the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, and at St. Mary's Cemetery, in Sacramento.  Bishop Jaime Soto presided over the Concelebrated Funeral Mass with Bishops William Weigand and Francis Quinn; jopned by 81 Priests.  Monsignor Albert O'Connor was the Homilist, and spoke of the fidelity of Father Terry as both an adoptive father of 4 daughters and ten grandchildren; to our nation as a member of the United States Air Force; and as a Priest of Jesus Christ; underpinning the weakness as well as the strength of any man who becomes a priest and yet how one's acknowledged and accepted  weakness can assist in the success a priest and pastor is capable of achieving as Fr. Terry did in the parishes he ministered in, with his work as Pastor of St. Maria Goretti and the Parish's First Church, recently constructed under his leadership being the crowning achievement.  Msgr. O' Connor stated Fr. Fulton was able to succeed as a priest and pastor, even though he could be tough, or what Father Brian Atienza, Pastor of St. Joseph;s Parish in Elk Grove, who presided and preached at the Vigil Service Thursday night referred to as, Fr. Terry's "rough edges".  As the full capacity Cathedral attested today, Father Terry Fulton holds a lasting affection in the hearts and minds of persons he interacted with and ministered to, as both a a deacon and a priest.  Eternal Light, Life, and Love, now be his in the embrace of God's Kingdom.  May his soul Rest in Peace Forever.............fr.tdp
