A SUNDAY BULLETIN PREP, ALL SOULS LETTER & ENVELOPE STUFFING, TRYING TO GET A BULK MAIL PERMIT, AND DISCUSSING PARISH MUSIC MINISTRY DAY @ OLOL..........

It has been an eventful, work driven, day at OLOL.  Morning Mass, Sunday Bulletin copy to prepare and transmit, organizing materials for the parishioners who volunteered to come and stuff the All Souls mailing with the letters and envelopes inserted in it.  Five parishioners and Sr. Theresa Norris, came to help, two of them arriving after it was done, because Charles and Marva Glover, Nicole Kritzer, and Sr. Theresa, had the project completed on less than forty minutes.  Kudos to them !!!!!  One of the other potential volunteers, Michelle Pratt, mother of three children, including newborn baby Kylie, who was born since my arrival here in July, missed the stuffing project, but came in to discuss parish music ministry.  She is a beautiful singer, but has been functioning as a parish Lector, instead of Music Minister.  We talked about and agreed, she will assist with leading the singing at the 8:30 am Mass on Sundays, along with parishioner Frances Norsworthy, who has been leading in acapella, for awhile now.  Michelle's rich second soprano / alto voice being added to leading liturgical music, especially the post conciliar songs that have become standards in most parishes.  A sick call to hospice cancer patient Herman Padilla, rounded out my day; while Keith Gray spent his post bulletin transmission afternoon sorting out with the Post Office what it takes for us to get a Bulk Mil Permit for the OLOL.  More than two and a half hours it took !!.!  A kind of caddywhompers day in Sacramento / Del Paso Heights, but a good one, at that.........All In A Day's Work As A Parish Priest I Am So Glad To Be,   Fr.  Troy
