HEADING TO THE STATUE OF LIBERTY AND ELLIS ISLAND...........

On our second day in New York City we went by ferry to the Statue of Liberty and then a tour of Ellis Island, and the immigration history center it houses.  We walked through the substantial exhibits there and viewed a film by Charles Guggenheim on those who immigrated to the United States entering through Ellis Island.  Upon our return to Battery Park we walked to the 911 Memorial and the World Trade Center where the new Freedom Towers are still under construction.  There we viewed the waterfall fountains that bear the names of the 2,983 persons killed there by on September 11, 2001.  Ger and Kev were going to take the Uptown Gray Line bus tour after we had lunch.  Tomorrow morning we will got to the original Macy's and on to Bloomingdale's for a walkabout, before returning to Newark, and our respective flights to Ireland and California, and conclude these two weeks of silver jubilee celebration together............Fr.  Troy
