ST. MARY MAGDALENE, PENITENT - SIN AND THE CALL TO REPENTANCE..........

Today Catholic-Christianity focuses on St. Mary Magdalene, Sinner and Penitent, who became not only a fervently loyal disciple of Jesus the Christ, but one of first witnesses to His Resurrection from the Dead. Mary Magdalene was not alone in being a sinner. Due to our fallen mortal nature, all humans are sinners. Mary Magdalene shows all of us as Disciples of Jesus the way to contrition, conversion, and the forgiveness of our sins. Without that same sense of sorrow and selflessness, we fall into the selfishness of sin and detachment from God. Living our discipleship to the best of our ability with sincere and selfless hearts and minds that are devoted to following Jesus strengthening the Community of Believers, and building up the coming of the Kingdom of God. As the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, (RCIA) refers to it, "The Call To Continuing Conversion", and as the North American Cathechumenate designates it, "The Order Of Penitents", and as the Church celebrates it sacramentally, "Reconciliation" "Penance", "Confession", are the means by which we can and do seek to channel the contrition for our sins and redirect our lives in Christ Jesus. And so, as we commemorate the life and faithful witness, who overcame her sins and shortcomings through the grace of God and her willingness to turn to the teachings of Jesus as her Lord and Savior, so too may we find our ever more loyal and true way to making our discipleship journey an emerging conversion experience..........In The Peace Of Christ - The Forgiver Of Our Sins, Fr.
