17TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME : PERSISTENCE IN PRAYER..........

From our daily conversations with family members, friends, colleagues clients, neighbors, or other believers, to newspapers, magazines, television, radio, telephones, faxes, cable, satellite, and the internet, and sign language, Communication is a mainstay of human relationships. The more extensive and emergent human communications have become, our Sunday Scriptures speak to us today of an even deeper and essential form of Communication for believers and followers of Jesus the Christ, - the dialogue of Prayer. Abraham, the Patriarch of God's Chosen People was persistent in prayer and advocacy for the Israelites. And when Jesus' Disciples admiring His persistence and regularity in prayer asked Jesus to teach them to pray, He gave them whatis now regarded as,"The World's Most Perfect Prayer : The Our Father / The Lord's Prayer.
Effective communication is necessary if we as human beings are to convey what we are thinking and speaking in order to understand each other. Prayer is the vital communication of our Discipleship, as we dialogue with the Divine expressing the four fold intentions of Adoration, Contrition, Thanksgiving, and Supplication. That is why the Our Father is a perfect prayer. When we pray the Lord's Prayer, the Our Father, we are being praising, penitential, grateful, and petitioning, of God for our own needs and those of others. So as you communicate with others this week through the various facets of media and spirituality, place a premium on your communication in prayer, that you and your circle of family, friends, and fellow believers, will truly transmit and receive an abundance of understanding with which we together can build up the coming of God's Kingdom..........May You Experience The Blessings Of Effective Communication, Fr.
