SECOND ADVENT FRIDAY AND THE LIGHT OF ST. LUCY.............

As Catholic-Christians universally and particularly in the countries of Scandinavia and Italy, celebrate the feast day of St. Lucy, Virgin and Martyr, we embrace the tradition of Light, she is commemorated for during the Advent Season.  On this day communities gather in processions of light, and it is this day each year that the lighting of the Nativity Scene and Christmas Trees is celebrated in Vatican.  I have posted more featured postings about St. Lucy and the Vatican Christmas Lighting on my Facebook and Twitter pages.  On this 2nd Friday of Advent, which today is St. Lucy's Day, may you join all faith filled and fervent Disciples in embracing the spirit of St. Lucy as Advent People and walking into the Light of the Coming Messiah, the Light of the World that is Jesus The Christ.  St. Lucy enLighten us as we journey forth in anticipation of the Lord's Coming.............Fr.  Troy David
