UPDATE INAUGURATION 2013 : MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE AN INAUGURAL CUSTOM SINCE 1933.............

In the next ten minutes President Obama and the First Lady accompanied by their daughters, have arrived at St. John's Church across from the White House in Lafayette Park, and will be attending a Morning Worship Service at 8:45 a.m. Eastern Time, as they begin the Ceremonial Inaugural Day on the second day of the second term of the Obama-Biden Administration.  President George Wahington attended a Prayer Service at St. Paul's Chapel in New York City on April 30, 1789; the day he was first man inaugurated President of the United States.  But it was not until March 4, 1933; that President-elect Franklin Roosevelt and his wife Eleanor, attended a Morning Worship Service at the historical Church of the Presidents, St. John's that the custom of starting the Inauguration with a Service of public Prayer by Presidential families began.  The Ecumenical Prayer Service on this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, on this Monday of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, will be led by St. John's which is an Episcopal Church Pastor, Reverend Luis Leon.  Rev. Leon will also be delivering the Benediction Prayer concluding the Inaugural ceremony.............tdp
