ECUMENICAL CHRISTIAN UNITY WEEK AND THE FEAST OF THE CONVERSION OF ST. PAUL.............

On this eighth and last day of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2013, as we do annually we commemorate the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul, Apostle.  Catholic-Christian Tradition dates the conversion and powerful change of heart towards Christians by Saul of Tarsus back to occurring between 33-36 A.D.  It denotes the former persecutor of Christians transformational experience on the Road to Damascus in which God called and chose him to be an Apostle of Christ and a Missionary to the Gentile World.  Paul stands in Christian History as one of the great evangelizers in the New Testament with his  4 Missionary Journeys, and his 13 Epistles, to the communities he visited.  Since 1908, when the Octave of Prayer now known as the Week of Prayer For Christian Unity began, it has been celebrated during this January 18-25th, which has today's liturgical feast and Paul's outstanding example as it's bookend on the eighth and last day of mutual, interdemoninational, interfaith, Prayer.  As we conclude our observance of this year's Octave please God, as a result of our mutual Prayer may we have a deeper discernment and resolve to address and answer the qurstion that is this year's theme, "What Does God Require of Us ?".  Me, You, and all Christians of open minds anf sincere hearts.............Fr.  Troy
