112th CONGRESS ABOUT TO END WITHOUT PASSING HURRICANE SANDY RELIEF............

The House of Representatives in the 112th Congress is preparing to go into concluding adjournment, without passage of any disaster relief to address Hurricane Sandy.  The decision of the House Leadership not to schedule a vote on the relief bill aid package for the citizens of the Eastern seaboard of the United States, especially New Jersey and New York, a bill that passed the United States Senate last week with the bipartisan support of 62 Senators.  The House's failure to act, 66 days after the onslaught of Hurricane Sandy is being widely condemned across the political spectrum, and is being forcefully addressed at this hour by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who is bluntly blaming and excoriating Speaker of the House "John Boehner and the Republican Majority in the House", for not taking responsibility and is roundly chiding Speaker Boehner for pulling authorization for a vote on the aid package and lauding House Majority Leader Eric Canto for trying to get a vote taken on this disaster relief.  Governor Christie has just said that actions like this are the reason, "People Hate Congress", as he asserts he and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, and the two States Senators and House members are working together in a  bipartisan manner, to get the aid for New York and New Jersey.   A high charged, tenacious, Governor Christie sounds very ready to fight for House passage of this $60 billion Hurricane Sandy relief bill until the House of Representatives responds affirmatively, in what Christie has described this morning as a betrayal.............tdp
