SENATOR JOHN KERRY'S CONFIRMATION HEARING FOR SOS WITH THE FOREIGN RELATIONS COMMITTEE.............

John Kerry, President Barack Obama's second term choice to serve as U.S. Secretary of State, and for the past twenty eight years U.S. Senator from Massachusetts, and the 2004 Democratic Presidential Nominee, appeared before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee this morning for his Confirmation Hearing.  In a vigorous three hours and fifty minutes hearing, Kerry who has served on the Foreign Relations Committee his entire tenure in the U.S. Senate, the past four years as Chairman; responded to his fellow Senators questioning, with depth of knowledge and hands on experience of Foreign Relations and International Affairs, not only from his tenure in the Senate and membership on the pertinent Committee, but from his childhood, being the son of a U.S. Foreign Service officer, the late Richard Kerry.  During today's hearing in response to a question from Senator John McCain, Kerry assured him and the Committee members, that the twenty o two month long Syrian government crackdown crises in which 60,000 Syrians and hundreds of  thousands more have fled in search of refuge and are tent vound in a great number of cases, on the borders of their country - will be one of his priorities as Secretary of State.  Kerry's confirmation is expected to come quickly.  Confirmation in the Senate requires a two thirds majority, thus 67 votes or more.  A vote to confirm his nomination by the Foreign Relations Committee next week and then be voted on by the full Senate, along with other Cabinet nominations.  Thus sometime in the next few weeks.............Fr.  Troy

A day after Republican Senators tried to put Hillary on the grill, just to get burned themselves, she is graciously sitting next to Sen John McCain, who has made her an adversary, and she is introducing John Kerry to the Senate confirmation panel. It speaks volumes of her moxie and mettle, not to be flustered or intimidated by anyone or anything.

A few times during the hearing,Sen Kerry lowered the tone of his voice and chose his words very carefully....it points out that sometimes Senators and Congressman really receive and have to digest much sensitive classified information and have to choose and parse words carefully in order not to divulge issues of national security....which quite hypocritically Sens Johnson, Graham and McCain have admitted they did not even attend the classified debriefing sessions given to them post-Benghazi, and yet they criticize still to this day the stream of information about what actually happened.
