TOURING WITH COUSIN FATHER EDDIE HIS COUNTY ROSCOMMON ROOTS ..........
What a full day Tesday was, touring with Cousin Father Eddie through his relatives on his mother's side of the Kavanagh Family, the McDermotts and the Finches. Wednesday brought us back to County Kilkenny at just before 6 pm, and Fr. Oliver and I visited the home of our very good friends, Kev and Ger Butler, for beautifully barbequed steaks and great chat and craic. As this summer holiday winds down, I have blog columns to finish and publish, as Msgr. Kavanagh and I, prepare to go home to Sacramento on Friday. Just as Monday, Labor Day in the USA, was the 32nd anniversary of my friendship with Curtis Richards, so too, is today - Wednesday September 8th, the 31st anniversary of my stellar and loyal friend (truly family !!) Teres Bugatto Mugnaini, whom I met on this day, September 8th, the liturgical feast of the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in 1979, when she was a college freshman, and me a first year graduate student at CSU-Sacramento. And as she was being rushed by her beloved sorority, Alpha Phi, we met at a Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity party. Now, she is 25 years married to Mike Mugnaini, one of my Sac State fraternity brothers, and their 3 children, Chris, 20; Lauren, 18; and Alex, 16; are students at Sacramento State University, and Rio Americano High School. Teres, aka, Mrs. Mugnaini, is the 3rd Grade teacher at Sierra Oaks School in Arden Park, where the CLA Mugs, went to elementary school and she and her mother, Ramona Bugatto, have volunteered as parent and grandparent, for many years.....In Grateful Thanks For The Essential Quality Of Their Friendships And Support In My Life For Three Decades Plus One Year.........."Brother" Fr.
