VETERAN'S DAY 2012............
At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day in the eleventh month, ninety four years ago today - November 11, 1918; an Armistice took effect that led to the end of World War I. Armistice Day was observed for the next twenty years, becoming in 1938, by an Act of Congress, a national observance. In 1954, by legislation passed by Congress and signed into Law by President Eisenhower it became Veterans Day. Whereas, Armistice Day recognized our American military members who served in World War 1, Veterans Day honors all who have served in maintaining the Peace and fighting the Wars in the history of the United States of America. Therefore, today let us Remember and Thank for their service, the men and women of the United States Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, et al; who have worn the uniforms of our nation, past and present. God Bless them. God Bless America............Fr. Troy
