PRESIDENT DECLARED WINNER OF FLORIDA AND ITS 29 ELECTORAL VOTE............
At this hour President Obama has been declared the winner of the State of Florida, four days after Election Day. Florida's 29 Electoral Votes brings the final outcome in the Electoral College to Obama 332; Romney 206; with President Obama winning 50% of the Sunshine State's Popular Vote; and Governor Romney getting 49.1% of Florida's Popular Vote. In winning Florida, President Obama was the winner of 26 States and the Dustrict of Columbia; to 24 States for Governor Romney.
Specialty Group Inc., of Knoxville, Tenn., made a Republican-leaning super-PAC corporate donation of nearly $5.3 million between Oct. 1 and Oct. 11, according to NBC news. The PAC then spent 1.7 million on advertising trying to defeat Democratic candidate for Illinois Congress, Tammy Duckworth, who was running against a Tea Party incumbent. The Democrat won unseating the incumbent. Wow.....that's another example of ALOT of money going down the drain, for nought.
ReplyDeleteTHE MAJOR PROBLEM OF CAMPAIGN FINANCE GIVEN THE CITIZENS UNITED DECISION OF THE U.S. SUPREME COURT, IS THAT BOUNDLESS VOLUMES OF MONEY FROM NEFARIOUS SOURCES CAN BE POURED INTO ANY CAMPAIGN NOT JUST IN SUPPORT OF A CANDIDACY OR CAUSE, BUT AGAINST TARGETED PERSONS AND PROPOSALS. YOUR TWO EXAMPLES PRIME EVIDENCE OF WHAT WENT ON EXTENSIVELY IN ELECTION 2012. I THINK THERE IS NEED NOT ONLY TO LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT ONE PERSON OR PAC CAN DONATE TO A PARTICULAR RACE, BUT THAT THE DONATIONS SHOULD COME ONLY FROM WITHIN THE STATE THE CAMPAIGN IS TAKING PLACE IN. ONLY THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE COULD GARNER NATIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS AS I PROPOSE IT BE REFORMED. AND ALL CAMPAIGNS NEED TO BE CLOSELY MONITORED AND ABUSES PROSECUTED. LOOK AT THE $11 MILLION MONEY LAUNDERING IN THE CALIFORNIA PROPOSITIONS 30 AND 32 CAMPAIGNS; THAT ILLEGAL CONTRIBUTION MAY HAVE COME FROM THE VERY PEOPLE WHO WERE OUT OF STATE PRIMARY SPONSORS AND PROPONENTS OF THE NO ON 32 CAMPAIGFN, FOR THEIR OWN SELF INTERESTS AND ADVANTAGE, IN FUTURE CAMPAIGNS............tdp
