FORMER FIRST LADY JACQUELINE BOUVIER KENNEDY ONASASIS IN EIGHT AND A HALF HOURS OF AUDIO TAPES...........
Fifty years after the Inauguration of the 35th President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, his daughtther Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, has released eight and a half hours of audio tapes of her mother, the late former First Lady Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onasasis, an intriguing insight into the lives they led together and her thoughts and feelings about a myriad of topics, including candid and unvarnished opinions about others. She is heard on the tapes as being disparaging of her husband's successor, President Lyndon B. Johnson, aq man she is said to have had affection for, as even greater esteem for his wife, former First Lady, Claudia Alta "LadyBird" Taylor Johnson. Caroline Kennedy in an interview with ABC News anchor, Diane Sawyer who hosted a two hour special tonight, highlighting the tapes, said she decided to go public with these audio tapes now, seventeen and a half years after her mother's death, to coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the Kennedy Administration. Tonight's ABC News 'Nightline', and tomorrow's ABC News 'Good Morning America', will feature further sharing of the audiotapes and interviews with Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg. Like the audiotapes of President Lyndon Johnson, which were released a couple of years ago, these tapes bring historians, presidential scholars,. ands citizens of our nation and the world, further direct insight and information from a direct participant and source at the fulcrum of that pivotal time in American History...........Fr.
