THE 3RD DAY OF CHRISTMAS - FEAST OF ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST...........

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God"....."The Word was made Flesh and dwelled among us".....(John 1 : 1 following.)  On this 3rd Day of Christmas, we honor the beloved apostle, as we celebrate the Feast of St. John the Evangelist.  The Faith and Fidelity, with which John the Evangelist lived his Discipleship of Jesus The Christ, the Lord and Savior of God's People, the season of whose Holy Birth we continue to commemorate, was exemplary.  John the Evangelist opens his Gospel with the telling of the Christmas Story, not with an Infancy Narrative, but with a deeply, profound, theological proclamation of the Son of God, and Redeemer of Humankind, as The Word.  As we honor John with a Feast of the Church liturgically today, may his holy example of being a loyal and fervent follower of The Word, the Light of the World, Jesus The Christ  - inspire us to ever greater Fidelity in our Catholic-Christian Discipleship, and the Joy and Peace, of Christmas..........Fr.
