TOM FOLEY FORMER SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE DIES.............

Thomas Foley, who represented Spokane, Washington for thirty years in the House of Representatives from 1965-1995; rising to become the Speaker of the House, 1989-1995; has died at the age of  84.  He lost reelection to a sixteenth term in the House during the so called "Gingrich Revolution", in 1994, in which the Republican Party reclaimed a majority in the House of Representatives, for   the first time in 40 years. After being  retired  from Congress, Speaker Foley served as United States Ambassador to Japan.............Fr.  Troy David
